Position Summary

Stored Energy Systems (SENS) is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our growing team. This position will be responsible for monitoring multi-state and local sales & use tax, analyzing transaction level details, state annual reporting, state business licensing and registration, assisting with audits, tax credits and reporting, and tax related accounting. This position is a hybrid role located in Longmont, CO.

Responsibilities

• Play an active role in all areas of corporate tax.
• Analyze and reconcile multi-state sales and use tax returns between ERP and Avalara.
• Prepare state annual reports.
• Maintain multi-state business licenses where appropriate.
• Communicate with operating units regarding sales & use tax exemption certificates, accruals, payments, and returns.
• Collaborate with external tax consultants on tax estimates and extensions.
• Perform tax payments by deadlines.
• Handle notices and communications from tax authorities.
• Developing and maintaining accurate tax records.
• Perform research related to new tax laws and tax planning projects.
• Managing the companys balance sheet, P&L, and accounting books.
• Performing account reconciliations, manual journal entries and accruals, and month end processes.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports as needed.
• Assist with annual financial audit.
• Assist with other adhoc reporting and projects as required.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

Works in fast paced office environment. Many tasks are repetitive in motion and include the use of office equipment (phone, computer, etc.). Must be able to sit (70%), walk / stand (30%), reach, bend, crouch, twist; manual dexterity required for data entry & other tasks. Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds. Speaking and hearing required to communicate internally and over the phone. Vision, depth perception & color vision required to perform essential duties. Working hours are Monday-Friday from 8 : 00 a.m. 5 : 00 p.m. Must be flexible to work additional hours from time to time if required.

Location : This position is a hybrid role based out of Longmont, CO.

Base Compensation : $81,000 - $100,000 is the projected range of annual base salary for this role depending on the candidates overall qualifications and experience.
