  • Full-time
Job description

Cleveland Clinic's Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation is conducting a national search for an Orthopaedic Surgeon with subspecialty expertise in Adult Reconstruction to join one of the most active and academically productive joint arthroplasty programs in the United States.

This is a full-time academic position offering a faculty appointment through the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine (CCLCM/CWRU SOM). The successful candidate will join a collegial group of adult reconstruction specialists engaged in high-volume clinical care, multi-center prospective research, and the teaching of orthopaedic residents and fellows in one of the country's most established training programs.

The position is integrated with the Global Peak Performance Center (GPPC), Cleveland Clinic's $40M investment in elite athlete performance science co-located with the Cleveland Cavaliers training facility. This infrastructure offers unique opportunities for research collaboration at the intersection of arthroplasty outcomes, joint preservation, and performance medicine.

Clinical Focus & Practice Profile

The ideal candidate brings fellowship-trained expertise in adult reconstruction with a primary focus on primary and revision total hip and knee arthroplasty. Strong interest in or established practice in the following areas will distinguish candidates:

  • Revision total hip and knee arthroplasty, including complex reconstructive cases

  • Joint preservation surgery: hip arthroscopy, periacetabular osteotomy (PAO), hip allograft, and limb realignment osteotomies

  • Arthroplasty in the setting of osteonecrosis of the hip and knee

  • Participation in large-scale prospective clinical trials and multi-center outcomes registries

  • Fellowship-level education of orthopaedic residents and adult reconstruction fellows

Prior experience in comprehensive joint preservation is a significant asset but not required. The program is structured to accommodate a range of subspecialty profiles within the adult reconstruction continuum, and the candidate's practice can be shaped in partnership with departmental leadership.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution

  • Board certification or board eligibility in Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS or equivalent)

  • Completion of ACGME-accredited fellowship training in Adult Reconstruction

  • Active Ohio medical licensure or eligibility for licensure at time of appointment

  • Demonstrated surgical proficiency in primary and revision total joint arthroplasty

  • Record of or clear interest in peer-reviewed scholarship, clinical research, or educational leadership

Strong interpersonal and communication skills; commitment to patient-centered care and team-based practice

What Cleveland Clinic Offers

We are committed to providing an environment where clinician-scholars can build meaningful careers. This position includes:

  • Competitive base salary with productivity-based compensation; details provided to qualified candidates

  • Protected research time and departmental support for scholarly activity and grant development

  • Faculty appointment at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine

  • Malpractice coverage, relocation assistance, CME allowance, and comprehensive benefits

  • Access to a high-volume, tertiary-referral patient panel with national and international reach

  • Engagement with a nationally recognized fellowship program and resident education program

  • Membership in a collaborative, multi-site enterprise spanning Ohio, Florida, and London
