At Sigma, we are redefining how modern businesses leverage data by building a high-performance, cloud-native analytics platform. As we scale, we’re looking for an infrastructure-focused Engineering Manager. You’ll lead a team of skilled engineers responsible for the core platform infrastructure that powers Sigma’s reliability, scalability, and velocity.
About The Role
This is a player‑coach role for an experienced infrastructure engineer ready to grow into a leadership position. You will guide the team technically and operationally, while also shaping career development and fostering a strong team culture. This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow as an engineering manager without stepping away from the code and architecture too soon.
What You Will Be Doing
Lead and support a small, high‑impact infrastructure team working across Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, GCP, Azure, CI / CD, networking, and system observability.
Drive technical execution of the team’s roadmap, ensuring delivery of scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with security, product engineering, and leadership to align infrastructure initiatives with company goals.
Mentor and coach engineers, supporting their career development and helping them grow through regular feedback and guidance.
Contribute hands‑on to architecture, design, and development, especially in areas of cloud orchestration, IaC, and infrastructure automation.
Establish best practices for infrastructure as code, cloud operations, and reliability engineering.
Foster a strong sense of ownership and accountability, setting clear expectations and helping the team maintain a high technical and operational bar.
You
Have 5+ years of leadership experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering roles.
Have worked extensively with Kubernetes, Terraform, and major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) in production environments.
Are passionate about enabling engineers through reliable, scalable infrastructure.
Have a strong grasp of networking, security, and distributed systems fundamentals.
Want to stay hands‑on with technology while growing your leadership and management skills.
Care deeply about creating a collaborative, inclusive team culture.

About Us
Sigma is the only cloud analytics and business intelligence tool empowering business teams to break free from the confines of the dashboard, explore data for themselves, and make better, faster decisions. The award‑winning software was built to capitalize on the performance power of cloud data warehouses to combine data sources and analyze billions of rows of data instantly via an intuitive, spreadsheet‑like interface – no coding required. Since launching with its unique interface, Sigma Computing has added features such as collaboration tools and embedded analytics capabilities. The most recent product launch included a set of AI tools such as forecasting capabilities, an AI copilot and a notebook interface for users who prefer a code‑first environment. Sigma announced its $200M in Series D financing in May 2024, to continue transforming BI through its innovations in AI infrastructure, data application development, enterprise‑wide collaboration, and business user adoption. Spark Capital and Avenir Growth Capital co‑led the Series D funding round, with additional participation from a group of past investors including Snowflake Ventures and Sutter Hill Ventures. The Series D funding, raised at a valuation 60% higher than the company’s Series C round three years ago, promises to further accelerate Sigma’s growth.
