We’re seeking a Chief Estimator to lead preconstruction efforts on complex and high-profile electrical construction projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional who excels at turning scope into strategy, numbers into confidence, and estimates into successful projects.
You’ll play a critical role in shaping the front end of multimillion-dollar commercial projects by leading a talented estimating team, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and strategic alignment across all bids and proposals. Your expertise will directly impact project profitability, timelines, and client satisfaction.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Lead the preparation of detailed and accurate electrical estimates for large-scale commercial and industrial projects
- Develop conceptual and preconstruction budgets, labor estimates, and bid strategies
- Oversee the preparation of project-specific checklists, submittals, and preliminary billing schedules
- Analyze drawings, specs, and scope documents to determine key cost drivers and risks
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids for completeness, competitiveness, and compliance
- Leverage estimation software and data to forecast labor and material costs
- Conduct risk assessments and value engineering to ensure competitive, profitable bids
- Present estimates and cost strategies to executive leadership and clients
- Maintain and grow relationships with vendors, subcontractors, engineers, and field teams
- Collaborate with project managers to support handoffs, schedules, manpower planning, and change orders
- Mentor junior estimators and continuously improve department processes and accuracy
