Job Description :
- Work in a Hematology / Oncology unit with pediatric patients.
- Position starts on nights and transitions to days.
- Flexibility is required for floating to any area as needed.
- Schedule includes working every other weekend, with 5 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule.
- Collaborate with a supportive team including Nurse Practitioners available both days and nights.
- Engage with a high acuity unit and liaise with various roles such as Clinical Nurse Specialist, Research Nurse Educator, Clinical Educator, Resource Nurse, and Patient Family Educator.
- Rarely perform invasive procedures on the unit.
- Documentation will be completed using Cerner system.
- Required to have completed specific modules, billable up to 8 hours, during orientation.
- Pre-approved time off is included in the contract without extension and at the discretion of the manager. Maximum of 10 days off, none within the first week of the assignment.
- COVID-19 vaccination is required; medical / religious exemptions are considered.
- Flu vaccination status is unknown.
This position is tailored to individuals with a strong background in pediatric oncology nursing, looking to expand their skillset in a dynamic and supportive environment.
