Job Summary : A 508 compliance specialist assists with the development and execution of policies and procedures to meet Section 508 standards.

Essential Functions :

• Services as a primary source of expertise concerning Section 508 accessibility remediation and helps client meet Section 508 standards.
• Provides thorough remediation for accessibility and compliance to section 508 of the ADA act and explains to internal and external customers what processes are available and used for remediation.
• Uses the DHS checklist of accessibility tests to determination if all features are accessible or not.
• Record problems / defects identified during testing and retest problems after they are resolved by developers
• Recommends Section 508 remediation solutions / improvements related to service offerings, processes and artifacts where possible.
• Stays current on Section 508 policy and federal agency accessibility checklists.
