The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the full payroll cycle success for multiple pay groups, locations and employee categories, including payroll processing, audits, data analysis, report preparation, system automation and administration, tax remittance and payroll general ledger updates.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensures accurate, timely processing of weekly payroll for union and non-union employees in multiple locations.
- Processes certified payrolls and related reporting, tracking and managing Davis Bacon wage orders and prevailing wage laws.
- Manages the maintenance and updates of payroll software; enters new hires, employee status changes, and updates related to deductions, wage garnishments, and taxes.
- Completes relevant quarterly, year-end, and other reporting.
- Recommends updates and changes to improve accuracy and efficiency through elimination of manual processes and data syncs, where possible.
- Processes union paperwork and reports, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Audits payroll and related records for accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Responds to employee pay inquires, and third-party employment and pay verification requests.
- Maintains secure, accurate, and organized records and files, reporting discrepancies.
- Meets deadlines and responds to time-sensitive matters accordingly.
- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and complies with company policies on ethical standards and business practices.
- Completes short-term projects, and other duties as assigned.
