Certified Forklift Operator on Graveyard Shift!
This role supports a busy manufacturing and plastic fabrication facility by safely operating forklifts and handling warehouse activities such as inventory control, staging, loading and unloading trucks, and moving materials throughout the plant and yard. You use RF scanners, wrap machines, and computer systems to ensure accurate picking of work orders and timely shipment of products while maintaining a strong focus on safety and organization.
Responsibilities
- Operate sit-down propane forklifts safely in tight areas inside the plant and in the yard.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently while protecting materials from damage.
- Move materials throughout the manufacturing facility and outdoor yard, organizing them for pickup and shipment.
- Perform inventory activities, including cycle counting and maintaining accurate stock levels.
- Use RF scanners to pick work orders accurately and track materials and inventory movements.
- Stage materials and finished goods for shipment according to work orders and shipping schedules.
- Operate wrap machines to securely wrap pallets and prepare shipments.
- Perform basic data entry and use computer systems to update inventory records and work order statuses.
- Follow established safety procedures for forklift operation and general warehouse activities.
- Work closely with the warehouse shipping and receiving team to support efficient operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a warehouse shipping and receiving team environment.
- Background in a manufacturing or plastic fabrication facility.
- Familiarity with reach forklifts and cherry pickers.
- Experience operating a wrap machine to prepare pallets for shipment.
- Ability to perform accurate cycle counts and assist with inventory control processes.
- Comfort working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Work Environment
You work in a warehouse shipping and receiving team within a manufacturing and plastic fabrication facility. The role involves both indoor and outdoor work, including exposure to heat and cold depending on the weather. You regularly operate sit-down propane forklifts, and may also work with reach forklifts, cherry pickers, RF scanners, wrap machines, and computer systems. The environment is active and fast-paced, with frequent movement of materials in the plant and yard. You are expected to follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace suitable for industrial and warehouse operations.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Visalia, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.90 - $17.60/hr.
