What You Will Do

The Agricultural Research Scientist plays a crucial role in managing the daily operations of the research program within an assigned area. You will collaborate with regional Site Leads and key stakeholders to effectively plan, establish, maintain, collect accurate agronomic data, and harvest trials involving corn, soybean, wheat, and cotton.

Key Responsibilities :

• Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the research program while adhering to budgetary guidelines.
• Coordinate the selection, preparation, and maintenance of various field testing sites, including safe driving and trailer usage for heavy loads.
• Contribute actively to trial preparation through seed processing, protocol review, trial placement, and field design.
• Maintain field trial sites free from weeds, insects, and diseases, with the ability to identify and control these issues quickly.
• Utilize handheld electronic equipment and proprietary software to collect agronomic data throughout the growing season.
• Harvest plots and gather samples for analysis, ensuring timely submission of harvest data to support product advancement.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and compliance documents.
• Work collaboratively with various teams to ensure seamless trial planning and execution.
• Engage with industry working groups to share insights and techniques.
• Be responsible for communication across teams and adapt quickly to challenges such as adverse weather or pest issues.
• Maintain an understanding of the stages of crop development and support cross-functional learning.
• Develop relationships with field cooperators and learn to operate and maintain research equipment.
• Possess basic agronomic and crop management knowledge.
• Embrace technical solutions and comply with safety policies.
• Utilize IT tools effectively and manage time and priorities efficiently.
• Demonstrate self-motivation and sound decision-making skills.
• Take ownership of project outcomes and lead efforts in accordance with site strategy.
• Build partnerships across sites to foster technical knowledge sharing.

Salary range for this position is $76,480.00 - $114,720.00 per year. Additional compensation may be available based on performance. Benefits include healthcare, vision, dental, retirement, paid time off, sick leave, and more.
