  • Develop and oversee corrective or recovery plans for projects that are not meeting safety, quality, productivity, schedule, or cost expectations
  • Ensure Superintendents maintain appropriate field documentation and accurately capture manpower, production, equipment usage, delays, changing conditions, and other significant project information
  • Monitor subcontractor and supplier field performance and address issues affecting project execution
  • Coordinate with Safety, Quality, Procurement, Fleet/Garage, HR, Payroll, and other company support functions as necessary to meet project requirements
  • Support project planning, mobilization, execution, turnover, closeout, and demobilization activities
  • Maintain effective working relationships with clients and work with Project Managers and company leadership to address significant field execution or client concerns
  • Ensure construction activities comply with company safety policies, client requirements, project specifications, quality standards, and applicable regulations
  • Evaluate, coach, and develop Superintendents and other field leaders and address performance deficiencies when necessary
  • Promote consistent construction practices, operating expectations, communication, and accountability across assigned projects
  • Escalate significant safety, quality, staffing, productivity, schedule, cost, contractual, or client risks to appropriate leadership

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible construction experience, including significant experience supervising field construction operations
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a construction leadership role such as Superintendent, General Superintendent, Construction Manager, or equivalent
  • Industrial construction experience is strongly preferred, including experience in one or more areas such as mechanical, civil, structural, coatings, scaffolding, piping, industrial maintenance, or related construction services
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple construction projects or work sites and effectively prioritize competing operational requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to lead Superintendents, Foremen, craft personnel, subcontractors, and other field resources
  • Strong understanding of construction planning, scheduling, manpower management, labor productivity, cost awareness, quality, safety, and field execution
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, schedules, contracts, subcontracts, codes, and other technical and contractual documents
  • Ability to understand project budgets, labor performance, production reports, cost information, and schedule impacts and use that information to make operational decisions
  • Experience identifying and resolving field conditions, productivity issues, resource constraints, schedule conflicts, and other challenges affecting construction execution
  • Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to hold field leadership accountable while developing effective working relationships across multiple project teams
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, project teams, field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make timely decisions in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to effectively use company project management, scheduling, reporting, and communication systems
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company and client requirements for access to project sites
  • Ability to travel between and/or temporarily relocate to project locations as required

Working Conditions:

  • Work will primarily be performed at industrial and construction project sites with periodic office-based responsibilities
