Staff Accountant
The Staff Accountant supports the finance and accounting team by performing daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. This role ensures financial data integrity, supports compliance requirements, and contributes to efficient financial operations.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field, 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, proficiency with accounting software, intermediate to advanced Excel skills, and understanding of internal controls and audit processes.
Other requirements include maintaining highly confidential and sensitive information, staying abreast of Federal, State, local, and corporate reporting changes, and not permitting remote work in an office position.
Preferred qualifications include experience in construction accounting and software.
Key skills and competencies include strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, time management and prioritization, understanding of GAAP principles, clear written and verbal communication, and a problem-solving and process improvement mindset.
Job responsibilities include performing accounting transactions, assisting Controller with day-to-day operations, completing accounting month-end and quarter closing processes, completing internal and external audit requests, preparing journal entries, coordinating employee credit card expense systems, reconciling parent company cash transactions, supporting project managers, preparing W-2s and 1099s, and performing other tasks and special projects as assigned.
