Position Summary

Skagit Valley College (SVC) is accepting applications for a  Job Title (not more than 15 hours per week) on the Mount Vernon Campus or  other locations.

The Opportunity :   This is a part-time, hourly position, typically working 15 or fewer hours per week during the period of Monday through Friday within business hours of 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm. Work days and hours may vary based on the needs of the program. Temporary positions may only work 1050 hours or 12 consecutive months from the date of hire, whichever comes first  . Skagit Valley College (SVC) Head Start is accepting applications for a Custodial Aide. The Custodial Aide performs routine and special housekeeping tasks to maintain the cleanliness and care of the Head Start Center's classroom and / or facility.

Positions are available at multiple locations across Skagit, Island, and San Juan counties including Mount Vernon, Burlington, Sedro-Woolley, Oak Harbor, and San Juan.

  • Duties and Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize classroom, including high and low dusting, wiping and disinfecting tables, cupboards and counter tops, sweeping, mopping and / or vacuuming floors, and cleaning / sanitizing restrooms;
  • Empty wastebaskets, trash and recycle containers;
  • Set up, take down, and adjust equipment such as paint easels, folding chairs and tables (including leg height) as needed for meetings and classroom use;
  • Assist teaching staff with clean up of activities from the classroom;
  • Assist teaching staff with sanitizing and / or cleaning toys and materials from the classroom;
  • May assist staff with set-up, preparation, and clean-up of food service in the Center's kitchen;
  • May include washing, drying, folding and putting away laundry;
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with Head Start policies and procedures.
  • Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications :

  • High school completion or a GED.
  • Desired Qualifications :

  • Custodial experience.
  • Experience in an early learning setting.

    Salary and Benefits :

  • Rate of pay is $16.28 per hour.
  • Eligibility for benefits is in compliance with state rules and regulations.
  • Conditions of Employment :
