The Development Manager leads development and fundraising activities for TECH, Inc. and The TECH Foundation of Kansas, contributing to the growth and sustainability of the organization. In close partnership with the executive team, the development manager's responsibilities include but are not limited to cultivating and managing donor relationships, planning and execution of fundraising events, and grant writing and reporting that align with overall organizational goals and strategies.
Development Planning
- Collaborate with the Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer (CISO) to create annual development plans for TECH & the TECH Foundation's consistent with the organization's strategic plan and goals.
- Stay current on development and fundraising trends, best practices, and opportunities for growth.
- Plan and coordinate solicitation and awareness campaigns.
- Lead planning and execution of fundraising events, including TECH's Annual Gala.
Donor & Community Relationship Management
- Prospect and cultivate potential donor relationships, including individual, corporate, and organizational donors to identify and foster opportunities.
- Maintain and grow existing relationships with donors, grantors, and community partners.
- Serve as a public spokesperson on TECH's impact, needs, and fundraising activities.
- Partner with the CISO to serve as a connector and advocate to the Hutchinson/Reno County communities.
- Manage external messaging and communications, building public visibility, consistency, and maintaining the integrity of TECH's brand.
Grant & Foundation Funding
- Research grant and foundation funding opportunities which align with TECH's mission and goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with foundations and current/future funders
- Manage the grant funding cycle including timeline management, writing and submission of applications, reporting, and other stewardship activities.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to identify areas of need, opportunities for program expansion, and gather data and metrics necessary for creating written materials.

Education and/or Experience
Required: Bachelor's Degree in a related field. Three or more years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, funder relationship management, grant writing, and/or a related field.
Preferred: Knowledge of and/or experience in human services field. Experience (personal or professional) working with people who have developmental disabilities.
Additional Qualifications & Skills
Required: Knowledge of the fundraising process. Exceptional interpersonal, writing, and communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, use independent judgment, and follow through with minimal supervision. Comfort with communicating with people at all levels of an organization (internal and external to TECH). Collaborative spirit and effective delegation skills. Working knowledge of Canva and Adobe Illustrator.
Preferred: Experience with donor management software (TECH currently uses Donor Perfect), project management. Knowledge of Hutchinson/Reno County communities.
