Emergency Management Spec Job Summary The Emergency Management Specialist supports the Division of Emergency Management in the Department of Public Safety at the University of Utah by implementing all-hazards planning, training and exercise development, with a focus on cross-training in key incident command system section leadership positions (finance, logistics, operations and planning). Working reporting to the Emergency Management Associate Director the Specialist will also share in other duties as assigned, including emergency response (e.g., staffing the Emergency Operations Center during planned and unplanned events) that will require scheduling outside of normal working hours. No relocation expenses are available for this position. Safety is a top priority for the University of Utah. The Chief Safety Officer (CSO) for the University is the Director of Public Safety and serves as chief of police services. The CSO is responsible for overseeing the University's Department of Public Safety, which includes the following operational divisions : University Police, Campus Security, UHealth Security, Emergency Management, Emergency Communications, and the central administrative Office of the CSO. First 12 months may include dedicated time with active aggressor training. 2. Operational duties at the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during planned events and incidents 3. May lead development and delivery of Emergency Management trainings, exercise programs, and event support coordination 6.
