Gpac is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join one of our clients in the CPG / Pet Industry based in western Illinois.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide safety leadership.
- Management and execution of safety activities for the plant location.
- Enforce OSHA standards as well as company safety policies and conduct plant safety walk-throughs.
- Perform job site analyses to identify potential employee exposures to injuries and illnesses and support safe work practices / procedures.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections / audits, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
- Lead and / or assist in accident investigations, near-misses, and property damage incidents to identify root cause(s) and develop effective corrective actions.
- Help manage daily activities regarding injury management and worker’s compensation issues.
- Conduct safety training : Forklift Safety, Lock Out / Tag Out, PPE, Confined Space, etc.
- Enforce site-specific safety programs.
- Conduct facility / site inspections and complete associated reports.
- Perform pre-task planning for high-risk work tasks.
- Work closely with company management. Be able to engage and advise the location's leadership relative to the company safety program.
