In this role, you'll partner closely with the Hospital Manager and Managing Veterinarian to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, support our incredible team, and help provide the highest level of care for our patients and clients. Whether your leadership experience comes from veterinary medicine, healthcare, hospitality, retail, or another service-focused industry, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your management career while making a meaningful impact.

If you're a collaborative leader who enjoys coaching others, improving operations, and creating a positive workplace culture, we'd love to meet you!

The Opportunity

As an Assistant Hospital Manager, you'll be an integral member of the hospital leadership team. Working alongside the Hospital Manager and Managing Veterinarian, you'll support the hospital's daily operations, helping drive operational excellence, team engagement, financial performance, and exceptional patient care. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires an on-site presence to effectively support employees, clients, and hospital operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Hospital Manager to support daily hospital operations, staffing, and workflow management.
  • Assist with employee scheduling and labor management to meet operational and financial goals.
  • Help establish and monitor hospital goals, key performance metrics, and team objectives.
  • Champion continuous improvement by supporting new initiatives and sharing best practices.
  • Support the development and implementation of hospital policies, including OSHA and DEA/Controlled Substance compliance.
  • Oversee inventory processes while partnering with the inventory manager to maintain appropriate stock levels and control costs.
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of client records through routine audits and file reviews.
  • Monitor hospital systems and coordinate with IT support to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new team members.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, recognition, and daily support to employees.
  • Partner with hospital leadership to address performance concerns and promote employee development.
  • Help foster a positive, collaborative, and engaged hospital culture where team members can thrive.
  • Lead by example in delivering an outstanding client experience.
  • Resolve escalated client concerns with professionalism, empathy, and timely follow-up.
  • Collaborate with the client service team to strengthen communication and ensure exceptional service.
  • Support community outreach and local marketing efforts that strengthen client relationships and hospital growth.
  • Assist with payroll preparation and employee timekeeping.
  • Help manage accounts receivable, cash handling, and invoice accuracy.
  • Support financial reporting, budgeting, and operational planning.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and manage operational expenses.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in a veterinary, healthcare, medical, retail, hospitality, or other customer service-focused environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with scheduling, labor management, budgeting, and day-to-day operations.
  • Proven ability to coach teams, build relationships, and deliver exceptional customer service.

  • Full-Time Hourly Position

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Free mental health support resources
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Generous Paid Time Off
