We're hiring a Junior Chemist to join our R&D laboratory supporting the oil & gas and specialty chemicals industries. In this role, you'll assist with developing and testing new lubricant products, contribute to research initiatives, and generate high-quality data to support formulation improvements.
Must have some lubricant laboratory testing experience to qualify!
Location : Houston, TX
Schedule : M-F 9a-5p
Responsibilities
Run lab tests on lubricants to support new product development.
Measure and analyze properties like viscosity, flash point, Tensile, Density, Pour Point, and oxidation stability.
Blend and prepare test samples for formulation projects.
Record and interpret test results and share findings with the team.
Work with senior chemists and other teams to improve or create new formulations.
Help with writing reports and documenting research work.
Follow all lab safety procedures and ASTM testing standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry or a related field.
Minimum 1 year of lubricant laboratory testing experience in an academic, research, or industrial lab environment.
Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments such as viscometers, densometers, Four Ball, Pin & Vee Block, and related testing equipment.
Familiarity with ASTM methods.
