About Sequel Sequel Med Tech is an early-stage company developing the next generation of precision drug delivery devices. Job Overview The VP of IT will report directly to the CEO and provide strategic leadership, along with hands-on oversight, in three key areas : enterprise applications, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure. This role will spearhead the development of Sequel’s enterprise applications, ensure robust cybersecurity measures, and manage IT infrastructure to maintain seamless and compliant technology operations. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in overseeing cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, and strong background in enterprise application management, system integration, and a deep understanding of business operations Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties Cyber Security : Responsible for protecting organization’s information systems and data from cyber threats, ensuring compliance with relevant security standards, and implementing best practices to mitigate risks. You will work closely with IT teams and other departments to strengthen security posture and safeguard critical assets. Enterprise Applications : L ead the design, implementation, and optimization of the Sequel’s enterprise software solutions. Responsible for ensuring the effective integration and management of key business applications, improving operational efficiency, and supporting business processes across the organization. Strong background in enterprise application management, system integration, and a deep understanding of business operations are required Infrastructure Management : Ensure a reliable and secure infrastructure to support all company needs, including computers, iPads, networking, and the MS Office suite. Lead initiatives to optimize performance, security, and availability of Sequel’s technology assets, supporting both internal teams and customer-facing operations. Regulatory Compliance and Thought Leadership : Bring expertise in life sciences and / or FDA-regulated environments to ensure compliance in all technology functions, providing thought leadership on regulatory best practices within a digital healthcare setting. Team Leadership and Development : Mentor and coach team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture. Provide guidance and growth opportunities to develop team members’ skills and career trajectories. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Collaborate closely with stakeholders across the company to align technology initiatives with business goals and customer needs, acting as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. 10+ years of experience in application development, IT infrastructure & cyber security roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proven track record within life sciences or FDA-regulated environments; experience in digital healthcare is highly preferred. Demonstrated expertise in application development, cyber security, and IT infrastructure management. Experience in startup or small to midsize company environments, comfortable with fast-paced, hands-on roles. Strong people management skills, with a focus on team mentoring, coaching, and development. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively across teams and translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
