Job description

Description

Reeves Lavallee, P.C. is a law firm in downtown Worcester, and we need someone to own the mail and the files. This is not legal work, and you do not need any legal experience. If you have run a mail room, worked a shipping and receiving desk, or kept a records room organized, you can do this job.

$18–$20 an hour · Full time, Monday–Friday · On site at 250 Commercial Street, Worcester

Medical, dental and vision are fully paid by the firm after 60 days — not a percentage, the whole premium.

What you would actually do all day

  • Open, sort and log the incoming mail, and get it to the right person
  • Prepare, meter and send the outgoing mail
  • Scan what comes in and goes out, then name and file it so it can be found again
  • Work through the paper files — the standing goal is a drawer, or two boxes, scanned a week
  • Keep supplies stocked and the copy and print area working
  • Cover the front desk and the phones when we need you to
  • Copying, printing and data entry for the attorneys and staff

This job suits someone who likes a clear list and likes finishing it. We will teach you our software.

Requirements

What we actually need

  • You show up, on time, every day
  • You are careful with details — names, addresses and dates spelled right
  • You are comfortable on a computer and pick up new programs quickly
  • You keep confidential information confidential
  • You can work through a daily list without someone checking on you
  • You are polite and steady with people when you are covering the desk
  • You can get to downtown Worcester reliably

Helpful, but not required: mailroom, shipping and receiving, warehouse, records or file room, retail counter, or any office experience.

You do not need legal experience, and you do not need to know our software — we train you on it.

Reeves Lavallee, P.C. is an equal opportunity employer.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental and vision fully paid by the firm after 60 days — Aetna D1 medical, Aetna DMO dental, MetLife Vision PPO+. Enhanced plans and spouse, child or family coverage available at your own cost.
  • 401(k) after 90 days, with a 3.5% employer match
  • Life insurance and AD&D at 1x your pay, employer paid
  • Health Savings Account / Flexible Spending Account after 60 days
  • Commuter benefits — pay for parking and commuting with pre-tax dollars
  • 11 paid holidays on the Worcester court schedule, plus paid vacation
  • The office closes when the Worcester courts close, including for weather
