JOB PURPOSE
The Graduate On-Campus Advisor and Ministry and Career Services Coordinator supports the holistic development and vocational success of students by providing guidance, resources, and opportunities that connect their spiritual, professional, and personal growth. This role collaborates with faculty, staff, and community partners to create pathways for students to explore their callings, gain meaningful ministry and career experiences, and develop skills that align with their unique talents and aspirations. By facilitating mentorship, networking, and hands-on ministry opportunities, the Graduate On-Campus Advisor and Ministry and Career Services Coordinator fosters an environment that enables students to deepen their faith, discern their calling, and achieve their career goals in alignment with the institution's mission and values.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide one-on-one career counseling to help students explore their vocational goals, develop career plans, and identify strengths and skills.
- Guide students in resume writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
- Offer workshops and resources on career discernment, networking, and professional development.
- Facilitate ministry-focused discernment programs and reflection activities that help students connect their faith with their career aspirations.
- Organize opportunities for students to explore various ministry paths and roles within the Southern Baptist Convention, other churches or religious organizations, and non-profits.
- Mentor students in understanding how their biblical values and faith inform their career decisions.
- Develop and implement programs, workshops, and events to support students in their vocational, ministry, and career development.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate ministry and career services into the broader academic and co-curricular experience.
- Oversee events like career fairs, networking nights, and ministry opportunities fairs.
- Build and maintain relationships with employers, church leaders, and community partners to create internship, job, and ministry opportunities for students.
- Coordinate alumni engagement in career services to offer mentorship and networking opportunities for current students.
- Develop partnerships with organizations that support ministry and faith-based career paths.
- Create and maintain resources such as career guides, job boards, ministry internships, and digital content to aid students in their job search and vocational journeys.
- Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff regarding available services, events, and opportunities.
- Utilize social media, newsletters, and online platforms to promote programs and services.
- Track and analyze data related to student career outcomes, ministry placements, and service utilization.
- Prepare regular reports and evaluations of ministry and career services to assess impact and identify areas for improvement.
- Use data to inform strategic planning and resource allocation for the office.
- Stay current with trends in ministry and career development, as well as higher education best practices.
- Ensure programs and services align with institutional values, professional standards, and legal guidelines.
- Participate in professional networks and associations to maintain a strong understanding of ministry and career pathways for students.
- Foster a culture of mentorship and community support within the department.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position operates in a standard office environment, with typical hours from 8 : 00 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support events, workshops, or outreach activities. The role includes periodic travel for networking, partnership building, and professional development. The Graduate On-Campus Advisor and Ministry and Career Services Coordinator will spend most of their time working in an office setting, with regular interaction with students, faculty, and external partners.
