Job Summary :

The controller is a seasoned CPA, who models integrity and professionalism, with a passion for excellence. Someone who is highly organized, process-driven, detail- and results-oriented. Given the nature of the Providence Cristo Rey High School (PCRHS) mission, a servant leadership style will be most successful. The pillars of the business office are Control, Service, and Continuous Improvement. This position will be a hands-on leader, supervising the bookkeeper and partnering with the Director of Finance to set up PCRHS to be wildly successful on a bedrock of finance and accounting excellence. This position is full time, on site.

Job Responsibilities :

• Manage the daily accounting operations, supervising our bookkeeper, including : general ledger, accounts payable / receivable, payroll, cash receipts, treasury, reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, fixed asset activity, debt activity, for all three legal entities (i.e., PCRHS, CWS Program, PCR Building Corp)
• Maintain the general ledger system / chart of accounts
• Prepare and / or review appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations
• Establish procedures to monitor compliance with donor restrictions and regulatory requirements
• Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules
• Facilitate period closing process in a timely manner; prepare monthly financial statements; assist with regulatory reporting
• Research accounting issues for compliance with GAAP
• Steward internal control evaluations and continuous improvement
• Lead application (requests for disbursement), tracking and reporting of government grants and SGO (e.g., Choice Awards, Career Scholarship Account, Federal Free & Reduced Lunch
• Assist in annual budget preparation, periodic forecasts, and revenue and expenditure variance analysis, and interim reporting, as needed per grant organization requests.
• Steward financial systems (i.e., Quickbooks Online, Bamboo HR & Payroll, Ramp A / P and corporate credit cards workflow, tuition management system)
• Steward audit preparation and engagement
• Participation in the school House System (monthly lunchtime student mentoring program)
