  • Oversee assigned project management staff to achieve timely, effective, and efficient performance of project managers' responsibilities.
  • Conduct continuous training sessions for project managers and project controls staff to include Oracle dashboard, Integrated Project Solutions (IPS), preparing estimates to complete, change management and other critical PM activities.
  • Provide formal and informal feedback to respective supervisors on individual performance of project managers.
  • Project Management and Execution - Serve as the primary Project Independent Reviewer (PIR) for the projects executed by the PMCL's PM cadre.
  • When serving as a PIR, conduct regular project review meetings with PMs and project control team members to monitor project-level performance, budget, schedule, risk, and quality management.
  • Drive consistent project management practices and procedures in alignment with Stantec project management (PM) requirements and the BOU Project Management Practice Framework.
  • Conduct the project management review process for all PMs and projects within the PMCL's PM cadre in accordance with Stantec's project business rules guidance, including completion of estimate to complete, estimate at completion (EAC), revenue recognition, and approval of EACs in accordance with Stantec's Sarbanes-Oxley compliance program.
  • Lead and support efforts to integrate improved resource management (e.g., implement resource-loaded scheduling capabilities and practices if needed).
  • Recommend improvements to work processes, policies, and procedures at every opportunity to enhance project execution, control and monitoring at the project level, BOU level and at the enterprise level.
  • Coordinate with PMs to implement corrective actions for distressed projects, adapt and apply procedures to address problem situations, and engage BC or BL leaders when needed to support this effort.
  • Evaluate PM compliance with Stantec risk management practices and procedures and the PM Framework - Support PMs in project-setup activities such as Oracle setup (understanding and support for PPTs, PSF, etc.), intercompany agreements, and sub- contracts. Approve documentation as required by Stantec's PM Framework.
  • Pursue billable work and serve as a project manager for projects, managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk in compliance with Stantec PM requirements including interfacing and communicating with clients.
  • Commercial Management and Pricing - Support BC leadership in the project-centric components of day-to-day operation of each business center or region, including project delivery performance, go/no-go decisions, pricing strategies, risk management, change management, forecasting and budgeting, and performance reporting.
  • Provide interpretation of monthly project performance figures to support the BCOLs in overall business unit management and the project managers to resolve project issues and improve project performance.
  • Assist in developing and reviewing proposal pricing to support business objectives and individual bid pricing strategies and support the account management and business development staff on key pursuits (e.g., evaluation of terms and conditions, commercial risk, and competitive advantage).
  • Support the BC leadership in review and approval of fit-for-purpose proposal and project scopes, schedules, budgets, and execution plans.
  • Participate in project risk review as needed (understand BOURC and ELRC risk triggers and the review requirements/process), including support for project managers during BOU Risk Committee Reviews and tracking go-condition completion.
