At Piper , we're searching for a driven full-time QA Test Engineer to join our dynamic technical team in San Diego, CA.

You will get to enjoy a reliable schedule, working Monday - Friday from 8 : 30am to 5 : 00pm . We are offering a salary range of $30.00 - $34.00 per hour for this nonexempt position .

The QA Test Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring that software and systems meet the highest quality standards. Given the complexity and safety-critical nature of these systems, the QA Test Engineer is responsible for a wide range of tasks to ensure that all applications, platforms, and embedded systems function correctly, efficiently, and safely.

Here's what you'll be doing :

  • Support tests for Acceptance testing of components used in the assemblies and fully assembled units. Follow and execute written test procedures / checklists and document results.
  • Support testing of systems with assemblies integrated into production configurations. Follow and execute written test procedures / checklists and document results.
  • Support testing / monitoring of burn-in production assemblies Testing priorities and deadlines are likely to be dynamic, requiring flexibility with changing workloads and assignments.
  • Skills with computers, preferably Linux
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on product specifications, requirements, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers and product managers to understand system functionalities and define test objectives.
  • Conduct various types of testing, including functional, performance, regression, and system integration tests.
  • Utilize automated and manual testing tools to execute test cases and verify the system's performance under different conditions.
  • Identify, document, and track defects and issues found during testing.
  • Work closely with development teams to reproduce and resolve defects, ensuring they are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in programming languages used for test automation and development, such as : Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
  • Linux operating systems, embedded systems, test documentation and multiplatform testing
  • ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
  • 2-5 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance, with a strong background in manual and automated testing.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, and remain calm under pressure.
  • Must possess strong leadership skills
