Position Summary :

Coordinates and assists in the supervision of activities of Halperns warehouse functions.

Essential Functions :

• Develops and implements policies and procedures for various warehouse / production activities including verification of incoming and outgoing shipments handling and disposition of materials and maintenance of a current inventory.
• Performs inspections of physical condition of warehouse and equipment. Prepares work orders for repairs or requisitions for replacement of equipment.
• Collaborates with department heads in the coordination of warehouse activities with other functions including production sales records control and purchasing.
• Direct salvage of damaged or used material.
• Collaborates in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities.
• Provides leadership ensures adherence to Halperns Steak and Seafood policies and procedures and applies corrective action when required.
• Interviews hires trains and retains staff. Conducts performance monitoring of staff initiating follow through with disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Human Resources when appropriate for the department. Mentors motivates and develops staff and acts as a role model and resource to them.
• Routinely monitors manages and controls budget analyzes variances and takes appropriate action and develops plans for productivity improvements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
