With offices in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Ohio, Pepper Construction is a national general contracting and construction management firm that primarily serves the private sector. Pepper Construction provides clients the experience and resources of a national company, combined with the hands-on approach of a local company.
Based in the Milwaukee office, the Quality Manager is a resource to the project team in project delivery, constructability, building technology, workflow and sequencing, and proper installation techniques. This requires continuous prioritized training, education, and mentoring for the project teams and their members. This position participates in Jobsite Quality Review Meetings and guides the Quality Steering Committees.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Collaborates with the Project Teams to develop job-specific quality procedures.
- Participates in design reviews and leads Pepper's Constructability Reviews Process.
- Review Construction Documents, Specifications, Shop Drawings, and Submittals to identify challenges and opportunities.
- Serves as a technical resource to the project team in project delivery, constructability, building technology, and quality.
- Research products, systems, techniques, and emerging technologies to assist the teams with the most updated knowledge in the industry.
- Works with subcontractors to develop and implement their Subcontractor Quality Control Plans.
- Identifies project risks through Pepper's Constructability Review process and advises the project teams with options to eliminate or minimize those risks.
- Identify areas for quality improvement and work with the Director of Quality and others to develop and implement solutions.
- Participates in education and growth opportunities to remain relevant and aware of current construction and quality trends.
- Participants and evaluate mock-ups.
- Reviews work in the field, photographing and discussing work in place with the project team.
- Writes reports for each project, giving direction and suggestions to correct work-in-place.
- Leads the team through pre-defined pre-installation meetings and takes notes.
- Reviews 30-50 projects a year, ranging in value from $10,000 to $350,000,000.
- Must be available to travel within WI as needed to meet Project Team needs.
