RANGER / MARSHALL – WILDHAWK GOLF CLUB
(VOLUNTEER)
Under the supervision of the Assistant Golf Professional, the Ranger / Marshall is responsible for the effective movement of golfers on the golf course. This position also includes an emphasis on golf etiquette.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Greets public and participants, answers questions, provides information or directs them to proper office. Assists the golfers in any way possible.
Monitors Pace of Play and use of play tracking sheet.
Provides excellent customer service.
Assists with the tournament operations and other golf events.
Operates golf cart, two-way radios, etc.
Maintains the cleanliness of the course.
Ensures that golfers are using golf etiquette.
Maintains water level for on-course water cooler.
Repairs ball marks and fills divots as needed.
Wears uniform and nametag as directed.
Communicates effectively and tactfully with the golf participants.
Attends and participates in regular staff meetings and in-service trainings as necessary.
Follows oral and written instructions.
Works harmoniously and cooperatively with fellow employees and the public.
Answers questions regarding various programs.
Performs administrative tasks, such as completing accident / incident reports.
Performs physical labor, lift, carry, push and pull heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) Walk, stand, stoop and crouch for long periods; climb ladders.
Performs under various weather conditions.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of and Skilled in : Communications and public relations; golf etiquette, providing great customer service at a golf course, golf course operations, basic math and reading skills.
Ability to : Understand and follow oral and written instructions; write and speak English at a level to satisfactorily perform the work; write and speak clearly and concisely; work harmoniously and cooperatively with fellow employees and the public; maintain neat and appropriate appearance; make quick and accurate judgment calls; establish and maintain positive relationships with the public and other employees; represent the District in a professional manner. Operate a golf cart safely; efficiently use computers, including word processing, spreadsheet and other software programs to perform job duties.
Physical Requirements : Must be able to perform physical labor, lift, carry, push and pull heavy objects, walk, stand, stoop and crouch for long periods; and climb ladders. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to perform under various weather conditions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must be at least 18 years old. Completion of high school or equivalent is required. Previous experience working at a golf course is desired.
EMPLOYMENT LENGTH
May be required to work unusual hours, weekends and holidays.
