Special needs teacher Jobs in Chicago, IL

We are looking for a talented Special Education Teacher for the school year.

• Schedule: M-F | 8:30 AM - 3:40 PM
• ASAP - 5/22/2026
• Grades 1-2 & 3-5 (STLR Program)

Hourly Rate Range: $43.00 - $57.00 per hour

Responsibilities would include:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
• Provide differentiated instruction in one-on-one, small group, and inclusive classroom settings.
• Adapt lesson plans, curriculum, and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Assess and monitor student progress using data-driven decision-making.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure student success.
• Participate in IEP meetings, student evaluations, and parent-teacher conferences.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and IDEA guidelines.
• Implement behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) and classroom management strategies.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education from an accredited program.
• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education Endorsement (issued by the Illinois State Board of Education – ISBE).
• LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist I) endorsement required.
• Experience with IEP development and implementation.
• Fingerprint Clearance & Background Check required.
