Job Description

The Senior Infrastructure & Systems Administrator serves as the senior technical owner for the company's infrastructure environment, including servers, virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure, networking, endpoint management, backups, disaster recovery, and core technology operations. This role is responsible for maintaining secure, reliable, and scalable technology services across company locations while supporting business operations, compliance requirements, and operational continuity.

This position is a hands-on infrastructure and systems administration role that provides advanced technical support, manages infrastructure projects, coordinates vendors, supports cybersecurity and vulnerability remediation efforts, and maintains documented standards, runbooks, and recovery procedures. The role also serves as a senior escalation resource for complex infrastructure, network, security, and systems issues.

Responsibilities

  • Support SQL Server maintenance, availability, and operational health.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance, capacity, utilization, and availability.
  • Manage infrastructure modernization and hardware refresh initiatives.

Backup, Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

  • Administer and support Cohesity backup and recovery platforms.
  • Monitor backup operations, resolve backup failures, and report backup health.
  • Perform regular restore testing, recovery validation, and disaster recovery readiness activities.
  • Maintain documented backup, restore, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures.
  • Identify backup, storage, virtualization, and infrastructure risks and recommend improvements.

Network & Connectivity Services

  • Administer wired, wireless, LAN, WAN, and SD-WAN infrastructure across all sites.
  • Manage Meraki switches, firewalls, wireless access points, VLANs, and network connectivity.
  • Support VMware VeloCloud SD-WAN environments and site-to-site connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot network performance, latency, routing, and connectivity issues.
  • Coordinate network installations, data drops, cabling projects, telecommunications vendors, and service providers.
  • Maintain network standards, diagrams, documentation, and best practices.

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Serve as a primary technical owner for infrastructure and endpoint security controls.
  • Monitor, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities, CVEs, and security findings.
  • Administer and review security platforms such as endpoint protection, Cortex, Forescout, Intune, and related tools.
  • Support corporate security standards, policy requirements, audits, and compliance initiatives.
  • Participate in incident response, risk remediation, access control, and security improvement activities.
  • Support software licensing compliance and technology asset accountability.

Endpoint, Asset & Device Management

  • Administer Microsoft Intune and endpoint management solutions.
  • Manage workstation compliance, software deployment, device configuration, and endpoint lifecycle standards.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of computers, tablets, servers, printers, network equipment, and related technology assets.
  • Support hardware refresh planning, equipment replacement, and technology lifecycle management.
  • Support copier configuration, address book management, mobile device administration backup, and physical security technology such as camera systems as assigned.

Technical Leadership, Support & Vendor Management

  • Serve as a Level 2 and Level 3 escalation point for complex infrastructure, systems, network, endpoint, and security issues.
  • Assist with Level 1 support activities during staffing shortages or business-critical events.
  • Research and resolve technical issues affecting business operations.
  • Develop technical requirements, obtain quotes, and coordinate infrastructure-related purchasing and ordering.
  • Manage relationships with infrastructure vendors, hardware manufacturers, telecommunications providers, and support partners.
  • Support change management processes, planned maintenance, software upgrades, and infrastructure project execution.

Documentation & Operational Excellence

  • Create and maintain infrastructure runbooks, network diagrams, configuration standards, support procedures, and recovery documentation.
  • Document backup and restore processes, VMware/VxRail environments, network responsibilities, endpoint management procedures, and security tool ownership.
  • Maintain ownership documentation for infrastructure systems, including primary owner, backup owner, documentation status, risk level, and vendor support availability.
