Job Summary :

This position will oversee servers' installation, configuration, and maintenance in our Pennsylvania Data Center and Amazon Web Services. This position will additionally collaborate with a team of skilled professionals responsible for deploying technical support for a complex commercial software application. Large public sector organizations use this application to manage their facilities and assets. The application is based on industry standards and is application server and database independent.

We seek someone willing to grow within the Technical Services team and become integral to our enterprise software's various development, deployment, and technical support aspects.

Job Description :

Duties / Responsibilities :

Design, organize, modify, and support an organization’s servers, including operating systems, business software applications, security tools, web servers, and email systems.

Quickly resolve system failures and troubleshoot issues. Research upcoming products, service protocols, and standards to support systems software procurement and development efforts.

Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.

Install and configure virtual private cloud and site2site tunnels.

Oversee system performance and report generation

Manage user accounts, credentials, permissions, access rights, storage allocations, and active directory administration.

Secure system integrity from any breaches or viruses and play an essential role in risk-mitigation planning, including creating backup plans, safeguards for data, user security policies, and identity management.

Develop and execute backup and recovery plans.

Offer technical support and training for staff.

Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues

Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.

Managing capacity, storage planning, and database performance

Required Skills / Abilities :

Analyze the effectiveness of the technology infrastructure for enterprise and ensure the integrity and efficiency of vital systems.

Troubleshooting and maintaining software systems

Research, assess, and evaluate technology in the infrastructure

Understand system requirements and determine how to improve systems to match demand

Create cost analysis reports that highlight the cost of efficiency

Communicate and collaborate with organizational teams

Education and Experience :

3-5+ years of IT professional experience

3-5+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including application / database server administration

3-5+ years of networking experience with a focus on configuration, troubleshooting, and analysis

3-5+ years of VPN Tunnel experience with setup, configuration, and troubleshooting

3-5+ years working in Cloud environments implementing infrastructure services and solutions

Additional eligibility qualifications

Experience with Apache Tomcat application server administration

Experience with configuration / troubleshooting of SSO (Shibboleth, CAS)

Knowledge / experience using MySQL 8

Thorough understanding and troubleshooting of Amazon Linux

Experience with application / database server administration

Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash or Shell scripting

Knowledge / experience using Docker
