Job Description & Skills: Front-End Developer The User Experience team at Sears Holdings is looking for a front-end developer with at least three years of experience (and a great sense of humor) to join our close-knit group of Web professionals. The ideal candidate should be able to quickly hand-code clean HTML and CSS from Photoshop comps and wireframes and have a basic understanding of interaction design and user-centered design methods and practices. Experience as a consultant. Strong HTML, XHTML, DHTML, CSS and XML programming skills, including “table-less” coding practices. Proficiency in JavaScript, Flash, Adobe Photoshop/Image Ready, Adobe Illustrator and Macromedia. The ability to create clean, precise browser-compatible code and reusable code libraries. Knowledge to turn business and user requirements into elegant user interfaces and compelling interactive experiences. A comprehensive portfolio. Excellent communication skills and a respect for other perspectives. Expert conflict resolution skills, with the ability to negotiate with stakeholders. Organized, self-directed, efficient and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks across multiple projects, under tight deadlines. Experience with IBM Web Sphere, JSP, Swing and Struts (a definite asset, but not required). Degree in marketing, visual communication, graphic arts, computer science or related area.
