Weekend Weather Reporter

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Responsible for gathering weather information for various newscasts, digital and mobile platforms.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for the content and presentation of weather information both on-air and on digital.
• Responsible for the creation of visually engaging weather graphics and maps to help our viewers completely understand weather conditions and forecasts.
• Keep abreast of new information and technology that would enhance the presentation of weather information, graphics and animation.
• Must be proficient in social media and digital communications.
• Develop and produce stories for on-air and digital platforms as assigned.
• Report from the field or studio as assigned.
• Drive / operate station vehicles.
• Ability to work any shift is required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Good eyesight and hearing, ability to walk up-stairs and sometimes long distances, ability to lift weights up to 10 pounds, ability to sit for a long period of time, ability to handle often stressful situations under deadline, good manual and overall physical dexterity.
