Deputy Program Manager (DPM)
Mantech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Deputy Program Manager (DPM) to join our team working in Washington, D.C. Navy Yard. This is an on-site position. The DPM will help coordinate high-impact engineering support initiatives and ensure the successful completion of technical and administrative objectives. This role demands strong leadership, proactive problem-solving, and a commitment to collaborative performance.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Assist the Program Manager with the overall planning, direction, and management of program performance, ensuring all contract requirements and performance metrics are met
- Serve as the primary point of contact in the Program Manager's absence, acting as the key interface with government customers, team members, and subcontractors
- Provide leadership and supervision to the program staff, including task leads, engineers, and support personnel
- Manage program resources, including personnel, budget, and schedule, to ensure efficient and effective contract performance
- Support the development and submission of all required contract deliverables, including monthly status reports, financial reports, and technical documentation
- Monitor and track program progress, identifying and mitigating risks and issues to ensure the on-time completion of task orders
- Ensure all program activities comply with security protocols, quality assurance standards, and company policies
- Participate in contract reviews, customer meetings, and strategic planning sessions
- Contribute to business development activities, including proposal writing and capturing new opportunities
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field15+ years of experience in Project Management or Program Management5+ years of experience supporting an engineering or professional support services contractExperience working in a program office or PEO at a Navy SYSCOMProject Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification in program, contract, or business managementProven experience communicating and working with Senior Executive Service and Flag-level personnelPreferred Qualifications :
Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical fieldOperational, engineering, or program management experience with aircraft carriers or their installed systemsFamiliarity with contract types such as Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF), Time and Materials (T&M), and Firm Fixed Price (FFP)Clearance Requirements :
Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret security clearanceAn Interim Secret security clearance will be required to startPhysical Requirements :
The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
