Senior Estimator - Mixed-Use Development Construction

I’m partnering with a well-established commercial construction company that specializes in mixed-use developments , including residential dwellings and commercial spaces. They’re looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to join their team and play a key role in the preconstruction and budgeting phase of high-profile projects.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage estimating efforts for commercial and mixed-use projects, including multi-family residential components.

Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and proposals from conceptual design through GMP.

Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documents to ensure complete and accurate scope coverage.

Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier bids, ensuring competitive pricing and proper scope alignment.

Identify potential value engineering opportunities, constructability concerns, and cost-saving strategies.

Partner with internal project teams and external stakeholders to align budget expectations and project goals.

Build and maintain historical cost data to support future project estimating.

Mentor junior estimators and contribute to the team’s overall growth and development.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in commercial construction; mixed-use or multi-family residential experience strongly preferred.

Demonstrated ability to lead the estimating process on mid- to large-scale projects.

Proficiency in industry-standard estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Sage Estimating, or similar).

Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and market pricing.
