Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and manage a Quality Management System designed to ensure continuous production of products that meet or exceed our customers' expectations, 3rd party accreditation bodies and are consistent with established standards, customer specifications, and production goals. Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to a team of quality / process engineers, technicians, supervisors, and inspectors. Define roles and responsibilities, communicate expectations, and hold direct reports accountable. Provide motivating leadership throughout.
Essential Functions
- Ensure a high level of internal and external customer satisfaction. Investigate and correct customer issues and complaints relating to quality.
- Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
- Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.
- Ensure that documentation and design controls are appropriate for organization.
- Administer document control and configuration management systems.
- Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with plant managers and engineers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
- Create, document, and implement inspection criteria and procedures.
- Provide and oversee inspection activities for products throughout the entire manufacturing cycle.
- Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel.
- Design, develop, and implement quality control training programs.
- Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.
- Interact with vendors to ensure the quality of all purchased parts.
- Maintain active roles on internal Continuous Improvement Teams.
- Develop and administer an effective internal audit system of the Quality Management System.
- Prepare organization for 3rd Party and Customer audits.
- Address Non-Conformances from all internal and external audits.
- Conduct a periodic Management Review of the Quality Systems.
- Act as the management representative for the Quality Management System.
- Follow up on and close pending Preventive and Corrective Action Requests.
- Develop and administer an effective program for controlling and measuring equipment.
- Oversee Engineering Change Request / Engineering Change Notice process and training.
- Support New Product Introduction to customer requirements and specifications.
- Manage quality alerts from production to drive awareness.
- Assisting the management team and providing QA support as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements :
B.S. degree in Material Science or Engineering is preferredMinimum 5 years related experience requiredSupervisory / management experience requiredThorough understanding of quality management systems in an ISO 9001 and AS 9100 certified business is requiredExperience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing techniques preferredExperience with developing / documenting proceduresUse of Quality Engineering methods in inspectionWorking knowledge of statistical techniques and toolsComputer proficiencyAdditional Requirements :
