Department : Medicine Ophthalmology

Job Description

• Visiting Scholar to pursue specialized research training in the laboratory of Dr. Nagaraj Kerur in the Department of Ophthalmology to study innate immune mechanisms in the eye and brain;
• designs and conducts complex experiments in regards to cell signaling and mouse models of retinal degeneration and Alzheimer’s disease;
• assists with laboratory maintenance and mouse colony; participates in journal clubs and laboratory meetings; participates in writing research papers for publication;
• presents research findings at local, national or international meetings;

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements :

Bachelor's degree in biological / health sciences / professional doctorate or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in a research capacity desired.
