Brelje & Race Consulting Engineers has an opportunity for an experienced, highly talented, and detail-oriented Civil Engineer with water resource experience to join our team in Santa Rosa, California.

This full-time position is available immediately.

What You'll Be Doing

As a civil engineering professional experienced in the planning, permitting, and design of water infrastructure, you will execute water source development, treatment, storage, and distribution projects.

Your responsibilities will include preparing engineering calculations following standard methods and principles, developing recommendations for equipment and / or materials selection, conducting hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using various industry software, and writing technical reports and memoranda.

You will work collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary team to navigate projects through grant and loan funding applications and administration and to ensure compliance with the requirements of State and Federal regulatory agencies.

You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and will interact with colleagues and our clients.

Minimum Requirements

  • BS or MS in Civil, Environmental or Water Resources Engineering (or equivalent work experience)
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in water, hydrology and hydraulics engineering
  • Professional registration as a licensed Civil Engineer in California (or another state with ability to obtain California P.

E. license within one year of hire)

  • Experienced using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience post-licensure
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in utility (Pipe Network) and mechanical design with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience with California state or federal funding for water projects
  • Familiarity with California water regulations (such as Title 22)

You will work under the direction and guidance of a Senior Principal, and depending upon experience, may direct the work of other staff assigned to their projects.
