Nuclear Project Manager – Small Modular Reactor (SMR) Product Development Reports To : Director, SMR Product Development Position Overview The Nuclear Project Manager will lead internal and external projects supporting Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technology. This role oversees cross-functional teams to advance SMR design, fabrication, and deployment, with a primary focus on Product Realization. The Project Manager ensures project delivery meets customer requirements while achieving cost, schedule, quality, and performance objectives. Projects managed in this position are expected to involve first-of-a-kind (FOAK) activities, a multiyear execution horizon, and high technical and commercial complexity. Special Position Requirements Candidates must have the following background and experience : Proven project management experience as a Project Manager for a nuclear equipment supplier, services company, or within a fleet / site project management office. Direct experience in the design of Nuclear Pressure Vessels and / or ASME components. Demonstrated expertise with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) Section III. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead overall planning, execution, and delivery of assigned SMR projects in compliance with company policies and procedures. Develop and maintain the Project Management Plan, including baseline scope, earned value management, and project execution strategies. Communicate project baselines and objectives to all team members and stakeholders. Interface with discipline managers and performing organizations to align on project priorities and resources. Identify, assess, and resolve project issues and risks proactively; escalate when necessary. Provide weekly and monthly project performance reports, including earned value metrics, variance analyses, schedule and cost risk assessments, and mitigation strategies. Coordinate with management to authorize work, assign work package managers, and allocate qualified resources. Develop and maintain project-specific procedures and control documents to ensure efficiency and compliance. Uphold the organization’s standards for quality, safety, and timely delivery. Perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education : Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field (required). Experience : Minimum 10 years of full-time experience in project management or a related field involving complex, multi-interface projects (required). Proven leadership in a licensed nuclear design project (required). Working knowledge of Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) designs (required). Experience required and preferred includes : Application of PMI Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) principles (required). Demonstrated use of Earned Value Management Systems (ANSI EIA-748-C) (required). Direct experience with design, testing, manufacturing, and installation of Nuclear Power Plant Control Systems (required). Project management experience within nuclear, energy, A / E, or EPC organizations (required). PMP certification or equivalent program (preferred). Technical Expertise : Understanding of nuclear development environments, including Nuclear Steam Supply Systems (NSSS) and reactor design under U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations. Regulatory Eligibility : Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy (DOE) 10 CFR Part 810 export control requirements.
