• Core responsibility is in sourcing news in a timely fashion Adding news titles and sources to asana for writers to claim  Understanding of what makes a good news title / angle Making judgements on what is flash news vs news vs something to spike to features  Ensuring news quotas are hit - understanding the times when it is appropriate to overrun, and when news can be passed on / passed to features  Assigning news articles / communicating with writers on news assignments  Editing news articles and prioritizing most timely edits  Prepping soft / niche news for weekends  Sending writer feedback / writer development Writing news articles when needed (especially when fastest turnaround is required on breaking news)  Attending weekly team meeting Our Perks : Competitive compensation.  Consistent and timely payments.
