Prescott Industries has an opening for an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our team of talented people at our growing manufacturing business.

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic will be accountable for the installation, repair, and maintenance of all facilities and production equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsible for staying up to date with new products, equipment, technology, and techniques.

Prescott Industries is a small business in Aubrey, TX. We are professional, agile and a leader in the wood door and frame industry.

We manufacture architectural wood and laminate doors, artisan hardwood doors for residential application, as well as wood door frames and components.

These are used for a variety of industries including offices, hotels / resorts, educational facilities, healthcare / hospitals, institutional / buildings, and residential homes.

Your Responsibilities

  • Ensure operation of machinery and equipment by completing maintenance requirements on production, packaging, processing equipment and utility systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic controls on industrial machinery.
  • Read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, service manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Repair broken or leaking piping on compressed air, hydraulic, pneumatic, and water systems to assure proper and leak free operation.
  • Dismantle machinery to locate and replace defective parts.
  • Perform cutting and welding operations to include repair or fabrication of machine guarding, structural repairs, and installation of new equipment.
  • Collaborate with production manager regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required. Troubleshoot to assist in creating new production processes / layouts.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools and handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Assist in maintaining parts and supplies inventory.
  • Follow all required work safe practices including lock-out tag-out requirements and wearing all required PPE in designated areas.
  • Follow a Preventative Maintenance program for all machining. Perform PM inspections and service on machines.
  • Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and otherwise maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Oil and lubricate moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
  • Record, report, and replace damaged, worn, or broken parts.
  • Order and install replacement parts for machines.
  • Identify the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
  • Repair broken machines quickly and efficiently.
  • Prepare reports documenting work performed.
  • Drive to obtain parts, tools, supplies from vendors.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Your Education and Experience

  • Some vocational or community college with related degree or certificate, or equivalent experience required.
  • 3-5 years experience in an industrial maintenance role preferred.

Your Skills

  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers and electrical systems, equipment and devices.
  • Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.
  • Works well independently and with others.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent driving record.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
  • Able to operate a scissor lift and a man lift.

Our Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking on concrete floors.
  • Ability to climb stairs.
  • Pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and stretching as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Must be able to move and lift up to 100 pounds unassisted.
  • Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
  • Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.
  • Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant.

Salary : $23.00 - $30.00 / hr Based on Experience

Travel : There is up to 25% travel in a company vehicle in the Aubrey and Denton area.

Schedule : Day shift, Monday to Friday
