Accounting Supervisor
I'm partnered with the CFO at a global, multi-million-dollar manufacturer near Downers Grove, IL. The parent company is growing immensely through key strategic acquisitions and they're now looking to bring on an Accounting Supervisor due to an internal promotion from one division to another.
Reporting directly into the Corporate Controller, the Accounting Supervisor will manage the AP team of 3 individuals and assist in the month-end close processes. You will also drive continuous process improvements and partner with the Senior Leaders to provide key financial analysis to support the business' growth.
Accounting Supervisor Responsibilities :
- Manage A / P team operations, including hiring, terminations, coaching, performance management, and productivity. Oversee daily department activities and implement policies and programs.
- Communicate across teams and stakeholders, representing A / P in financial close, issue resolution, supplier interactions, and process discussions. Collaborate with Procurement on improvements and vendor issues.
- Lead monthly A / P close, including reconciliations, fluctuation analysis, system close steps, and audit coordination. Respond to internal and external audit requests.
- Ensure timely, accurate payments for invoices, expenses, and recurring transactions across multiple plants. Monitor A / P aging and related reports.
- Resolve system issues for invoice processing and payments. Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize working capital.
- Maintain A / P procedures and policies, ensuring staff compliance and collaborating on policy development and updates.
- Record and report intercompany material transactions accurately.
- Manage record retention, including onsite storage and offsite imaging services.
- Coordinate budgeting and forecasting, analyze results, and partner with department heads to maintain budgets.
- Provide payroll backup, assisting with salary and hourly payroll processing as needed.
- Support general accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, month / year-end close, audits, forecasts, and capital expenditure tracking.
- Prepare reports and assist with special projects, ensuring organized record-keeping.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
