Program Coordinator of Youth Substance Abuse Services

The Program Coordinator oversees the Substance Use Prevention Program (SUPP) and Drug and Alcohol Intervention Services for Youth (DAISY), providing supervision and support to counselors.

Responsible for personnel management, the Program Coordinator ensures the effective implementation of both programs, which both offer substance abuse counseling, socio-emotional support, and education to youth aged 13-18 years old.

Key responsibilities include participating in interviews, hiring, and employee evaluations, conducting regular supervision, data tracking, reports, and other administrative functions as delegated by the Program Officer.

The Program Coordinator maintains positive working relationships and participates in regular meetings with school personnel, the probation department, and collaborating agencies.

Staying updated on substance use trends, facilitating meetings and training sessions, updating curricula, and coordinating prevention activities are integral components.

Additionally, the Program Coordinator assists Counselors / Drug Resource Specialists, collaborates on various projects, provides case management and advocacy, and ensures data / report preparation for agency contractor use / evaluation.

Emphasizing harm reduction, drug-free choices, healthy relationships, and positive social-emotional connections. The Program Coordinator actively participates in agency outreach, marketing efforts, including scheduling and facilitating training for new counselors and maintaining / updating master forms on Google Drive.

Qualifications The Program Coordinator position requires extensive knowledge of leadership, substance abuse prevention, experience working with youth, families and schools, counseling, case management, computer competence (Microsoft Office), organizational, administrative, planning, and excellent written and verbal skills.

The candidate must be able to work independently and as a member of team. The candidate must also be able to work closely with school and probation staff while staying connected to CHS and the supervisor to successfully implement program objectives and develop strong, healthy, ongoing relationships with staff, clients, and partnering agencies.

Candidates for this position must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology or Social

Work and three years related work and leadership experience. The equivalent combination of education and related experience may be substituted for the above.

Experience in program development is highly desired. Preference will be given to bilingual / biliterate / bi-cultural candidates.

Salary $58,777- $71,444a year D.O.E. Additional 5% if Bilingual (E / S). Generous benefits package including dental and vision coverage. AA / EOE.
