Position Overview
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will maintain accurate financial records, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. You will support various accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial analysis, playing a key role in maintaining the financial health of the organization.
What You'll Do
- General Ledger Management : Record and verify financial transactions to maintain an accurate general ledger.
- Account Reconciliation : Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, accounts payable / receivable, and other balance sheet accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting : Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Budgeting & Forecasting : Support the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts; provide variance analysis and assist in strategic planning.
- Compliance : Ensure adherence to GAAP and company accounting policies. Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation and support.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable : Process vendor invoices, payments, and customer receipts. Manage AP / AR functions with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Tax Support : Assist in preparing sales tax returns and other regulatory filings; ensure compliance with applicable tax requirements.
- Financial Analysis : Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement; present insights to management.
- Team Support : Provide support to the Controller, CFO, and broader accounting team. Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed.
- Perform other administrative or accounting duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldMinimum of 3 years of accounting experience; service or construction industry experience is a plusStrong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principlesProficient in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExceptional attention to detail and accuracyEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently or collaborativelyPerks of the Job
