Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to lead all accounting, financial reporting, and compliance functions for our growing organization. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with deep technical expertise in GAAP, a track record of optimizing financial processes, and the ability to partner closely with executive leadership on strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable / receivable, payroll, and cash management
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
- Oversee annual audit and tax preparation, liaising with external auditors and tax professionals
- Implement process improvements and financial systems enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Support executive leadership with financial analysis for strategic planning, business development, and operational decisions
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations
- Supervise and mentor finance and accounting staff
Qualifications
Active CPA license requiredBachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Masters degree preferred)Minimum 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role; experience in behavioral health or other healthcare field preferred.Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and compliance requirementsProficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skillsExceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-entity environmentMust reside in Eastern or Central Time Zone and be available during standard business hoursKey Competencies
