Alabama State University, College of Education, invites applications to fill the Assistant / Associate Professor of Curriculum and Instructions - STEM position.
This is a full-time tenure track position. The selected candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in one of the disciplines within the department of Curriculum and Instruction, advise students, supervise candidates in field placements and internships, publish in field related referred journals, present at conferences and workshops, and serve on department, college and university committees.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Create lessons and assessments for undergraduate and graduate students
- Use a variety of teaching approaches to design and deliver instructions
- Ensure student enrolled in the STEM programs are receiving proper academic advising
- Assist the department chairperson in formulating and administering instruction and curriculum policies
- Transmit course objectives and program reports to the appropriate department chairperson
- Perform other duties as assigned
An earned doctorate degree in Secondary Math or Science or Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in STEM education (30 graduate credit hours minimum STEM), 3 years of full-time public school teaching experience in a K-12 setting, and evidence of strong written and oral communication skills required.
