The Attorney General's Office is recruiting for a permanent full-time Budget Analyst 4 in the Financial Services Division. This position is located in Olympia, Washington, and is not union-represented. Note : there is the possibility of an in-training from the Budget Analyst 3 level. Budget Analyst 3 Salary range 54 : $60,132 - $80,820
Budget Analyst 4 Salary range 61 : $71,472 - $96,144 The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the preferred candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

About the Financial Services Division : The Financial Services Division (FIS) provides support and accountability for agency financial and budgetary decisions and practices. FIS ensures that the reporting and transmission of agency financial information is complete, accurate and timely. FIS is also responsible for agency budget development and monitoring in addition to accounting, payroll, contracts and purchasing functions. FIS contains three main sections : Accounting, Contracts & Grants and Budget.
Duties and Essential Functions of a Budget Analyst 4 : This position provides budget analysis, consultation, interpretation and other assistance. In this role staff work independently to provide accurate and timely research support for staffing, and budget functions for the agency to make good resource decisions. This position directly contributes to AGO's mission delivering high quality legal services, serving the people of Washington and promoting a collegial, diverse and inclusive workplace.

In-Training Defined :
An in-training is on-the-job instruction designed for candidates with less experience than the required goal classification to learn and grow into a higher-level role. In this job posting, we are open to considering those eligible at the Budget Analyst 3 level who are interested in learning on-the-job with the goal of moving into the Budget Analyst 4 role. You'll gain the competencies and skills needed to successfully perform your duties while being supported by your supervisor, manager, and coworkers. Upon successful completion of your training and demonstrating knowledge of the position requirements, you will be promoted into the Budget Analyst 4 level.
Qualifications :
To qualify at the Budget Analyst 3 Level :
A Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, accounting, economics or statistics
Plus
Five years of professional experience in budgets, management or program analysis.
To qualify at the Budget Analyst 4 Level :
A Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, accounting, economics or statistics
Plus
Five years of professional experience in budgets, management or program analysis.
