We are looking for a detail-oriented Mailroom Assistant to join our team in Columbia, Maryland. This is a fully onsite, Contract-to-long-term position that offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of mail processing and administrative support functions. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to handling daily mailroom activities.
Responsibilities :
- Sort and organize incoming and outgoing mail to ensure timely delivery.
- Distribute mail and packages to the appropriate departments or individuals.
- Assist with daily mail processing tasks, including labeling and packaging.
- Coordinate with the Administrative Assistant Director to meet operational needs.
- Maintain accurate records of mailroom activities and ensure efficient workflow.
- Perform general administrative tasks as needed to support the department.
- Monitor mailroom supplies and request replenishments when necessary.
- Respond promptly to inquiries regarding mailroom operations.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and standards in all mailroom activities.
- Prior experience in mailroom operations or administrative support is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and departments.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for record-keeping and reporting.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in performing daily tasks.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
