The Billing Representative is responsible for maintaining patient EMR, including processing physician orders and discharge summaries. In addition, responsible for processing billing information, including verifying accuracy and data entry into the system.

Responsibilities include :

• Examining workques to ensure that NOA's are generated and transmitted timely through ESolutions for Medicare. Ensure claims are submitted within timely filing rules for Non-Medicare claims.
• Ensuring proper entry of all patient billing charges and procedure codes in the EMR system. Update patient demographics and insurance information, as required.
• Sending orders to physicians in a timely manner and tracking to ensure return of signed orders. Prioritize and notify the appropriate supervisor if problems occur with obtaining signed physician orders timely.
• Sending Oasis to the State, reaching out to MCP / clinician for corrections. Review Oasis fields for accuracy.
• Discharging patients from EMR and ensuring bills are properly processed.
• Investigating all billing problems and initiating correction if applicable. Review and take necessary actions to reduce denials and issues related to coding and compliance. Follow up to ensure corrections are completed.
• Processing adjustments timely and with the authorization of the Billing Manager.
• Processing credit card payments.
• Meeting benchmarks on timeliness of returned orders.
• Copies, files and mails documents as requested.
• Answering the phone as soon as possible in a courteous manner. Taking accurate and complete phone messages and relays to the appropriate person.
• Other duties and / or projects as assigned. Demonstrate flexibility with job responsibilities in all areas.

Adhere to HMH's Organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Lift a minimum of 10 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 10 lbs. and stand a minimum of 2 hours a day.
