ICF is seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated candidate to help government clients implement and evolve their energy efficiency, decarbonization, and sustainability programs.
This position will be remotely based, and may be flexible / full time / part time at the discretion of the hiring manager.
The successful candidate will support the implementation of high-profile public-private partnership programs to drive energy efficiency and emissions reductions across industrial and commercial markets.
Senior advisors leverage their experience managing corporate energy management activities to identify and recruit candidate manufacturing companies to the partnership, and work with them to help build and / or improve their energy management programs.
Senior advisors collaborate with a broader team to develop national and regional strategies to increase participation in energy and decarbonization programs, and work with manufacturers to improve their energy performance by making use of ENERGY STAR benchmarking and program management resources.
Responsibilities
- Identifying and recruiting strategic new partners to the industrial partnership by engaging companies at senior levels of the organization with appropriate executive messaging;
- Providing strategic energy management support to key industrial companies to build and refine these companies’ energy programs using the ENERGY STAR management approach and resources;
- Recognizing the unique needs of ENERGY STAR industry groups in key program areas, and sustaining these groups’ progress;
- Evaluating new partner energy management practices, identifying partners with best practice examples, and facilitating mentoring relationships between partners;
Supporting the development of new guidance materials, trainings, tip sheets, communications materials, and case studies by providing input and technical reviews.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, energy, resource management, integrated science and technology, or a related field
Minimum of ten (10+) years working in an energy efficiency / management capacity in a manufacturing organization, and
Five (5+) years leading an energy management team
Preferred Skills / Experience
Ten (10+) years leading an energy management team, and reporting to or otherwise advising relevant C-suite executives;
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Persuasive communications skills
Professional demeanor and ability to balance respect, decisiveness, and tenacity
- Knowledge of the ENERGY STAR Guidelines for Energy Management and experience applying them in a corporate setting;
- Experience in an ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award-winning team;
- Experience with greenhouse gas reporting, e.g., Carbon Disclosure Project;
Experience with corporate sustainability programs and practices.
