Senior Change Management Consultant
ProSidian Consulting has an opportunity for a Senior Change Management Consultant located in Washington, DC. This is a contract W-2 position. Seeking a Change Management Consultant with Technical Writing experience to support a Federal Agency's Volunteer Recruitment and Selection Group. Change Management and Technical Management experience required to update standard operating procedures and develop a new procedures manual reflecting revisions in business processes resulting from implementation of electronic Applicant processing and information exchange technology for a Federal Agency's Regional Recruiting Offices.
The scope of work to be performed includes : conducting an analysis of current materials, developing and submitting a project plan outlining work-breakdown structure, timeline, minimum standards for addressing standard operating procedures, and overarching strategy to complete project deliverables; conducting up to 10 face-to-face focus group meetings with key stakeholders; executing the project plan; updating Federal Agency's intranet pages to reflect updated procedural guide; developing and submitting a draft version of the Guide to Volunteer Recruitment and Selection; delivering the final version of the Guide to Volunteer Recruitment and Selection; and delivering monthly written status reports and weekly oral status reports.
All contractor work shall be performed on-site at the client's headquarters located in Washington, DC, 20536. The contractor shall be required to perform periodic travel within the Continental United States to some or all of the Federal Agency's Regional Recruiting Office duty stations.
Requirements include managing mid-size projects relating to organizational change initiatives, end to end planning, implementation, training and adoption across the enterprise, technology, operations and support functions, directing and managing overall project status, budget, resources, change controls and risks, and providing input based on expertise relating to corporate and organizational change initiatives.
Must have skills include applying all aspects of program / project management, ability to learn the business partner / client's business, systems and operations, strong emphasis on soft skills, with focus on communication skills and relationship building, self-motivation and ability to lead in a team environment, results oriented, strong analytical and decision-making abilities, and a creative problem solver.
Minimum requirements include 5+ years of experience in consulting and project management, 5+ years of experience in technical writing, ability to work independently, ability to work in a fast-paced and changing work environment, familiarity working with HTML, Adobe Creative Suite, Visio and image editing, proficiency on Microsoft Office, ability to effectively communicate problem status to senior management, and ability to translate plans / policies into specific goals, tactics, action plans and deliverables.
Education requires a Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, communications, business or related field. Additional notes from HR include typically having 3-5 or more years of experience in change management preferred, project management certification or equivalent experience preferred, and initiatives limited in scope to department processes or functions, although some may have cross-functional or inter-departmental implications.
Candidate expectations include exceptional communication capabilities, passion for learning and working with client organizations and ability to identify and mitigate resistance within an organization, history of consulting delivery capabilities in the public sector, solid understanding of public sector operations, comfortably and effectively craft client deliverables in presentation and prose formats, and build strong and authentic relationships with clients and colleagues.
