Program Directors are responsible for leveraging their expertise to develop, maintain and deliver education services to students through :
- Creating and Maintaining core curriculum across the institution
- Communicating and monitoring delivery of core curriculum
- Preparing course plans and material
- Delivering courses
- Monitoring progress / attendance
- Advising students
- Recording grades and submitting reports
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Program Director Responsibilities : Faculty designated as Program Directors are responsible for the oversight and management of their specific program curricula across the university / college. To meet this responsibility Program Directors must :
Review program curriculum to ensure materials are up-to-dateReview courses within their respective programsReview text books, equipment, and materialsCreate and modify course control document as necessaryWork with program coordinators to ensure consistency of delivery across campusesMeet with local advisory boards to ensure programs meet community / employer needsDevelop and monitor externship programsPrepare for and facilitate annual faculty convocation to ensure programs are up-to-date Faculty Responsibilities : As Faculty Members, Keiser Faculty - Program Directors are also responsible for course delivery at their campus. This includes the following core areas :Prepare Course Plans and Materials :
Review Course Control Document (CCD)Prepare syllabusCreate lesson plansCreate exams, quizzes, and projects / assignmentsCoordinate with librarian and bookstore for availability of materialsDeliver Courses :
Administer pre-test / post-testDeliver lectures / facilitate labsGrade projects and examsProvide progress reports / mid-term feedbackMaintain grade bookEnforce Keiser policies (attendance, dress code, no food and drink...)Monitor Progress / Attendance :
Monitor student progress and follow-up as neededTake daily attendance and enforce Keiser attendance policyFollow-up with students who miss a class (phone calls)Report attendance issues to the DeanAdvise Students :
Answer student questionsBe available for one-on-one assistance / tutoringRecord Grades and Submit Reports :

The physical demands are those required in a professional office setting and higher education teaching environment : communicating with coworkers, presenting to a classroom of students (virtual classrooms for on-line), demonstrating procedures and techniques, and getting to and from appropriate classes and offices.
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
Professional office setting : moderate noise levels and controlled indoor climate.

LOCATION :
This position is an onsite position located at your campus unless otherwise determined by the Chancellor and / or designee. Any changes must be reviewed by the Campus President / Vice President and all final approvals must come from the Chancellor and / or designee.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING :
Minimum of a master's degree in occupational therapyMinimum of two years of experience in a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the postsecondary level (2018 ACOTE Standards).Five (5) years clinical practice in the field of OT including clinical practice as an OT or OTA, administrative experience including but not limited to program planning and implementation, personnel management, evaluation and budgeting, scholarship, and understanding of and experience with OTA's (2018 ACOTE Standards).Familiarity with ACOTE Standards and accreditation processes preferred.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS :
Current, unrestricted State of Florida Occupational Therapy Practitioner (OT or OTA) License
